About Collectible Art & Frames

Celebrating 30 Years of Service to Philadelphia and Surrounding Counties

Collectible Art and Frames was established in 1998 to meet the growing need for quality art and framing services in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.

What began as a simple frame shop serving local customers soon grew into a trusted destination for fine art, printing, restoration, and custom framing services. Over the years, the business expanded its offerings while building strong relationships with individuals, families, and organizations throughout the region. Some of the art available at the shop includes African American art by famous artists such as  Charles Bibbs, Edwin Lester, Kenneth Gatewood, Frank Morrison, and Laurie Cooper. The business also provides services such as canvas on demand, corporate art, custom framing, giclee prints, custom and promotional items, digital prints, photo restoration, and photography. Our framed pieces appear in the lobbies of local hospitals, physician’s offices, and attorney’s offices. We also have established relationships and partnerships with local artists like Joe Baker. The shop also provides the perfect place for the owner, May Abed, to share her photography, which now appears in City Hall and graces the living rooms of homes on the main line.

The photo restoration services are used by several historical societies in the area, and with the popularity of Ancestry.com, we have had a good number of requests for restoration of old family photos. More and more of the universities in the area are utilizing custom and promotional items in their stores as a way of marketing their schools. We believe that art in its many expressions can be good for our development, good for our brains. Pablo Picasso once said, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life”. Now we see that researchers in Germany have suggested that visual art improves the interactions between parts of the brain. Essentially, this study showed that art appreciation may also be cleaning up the brain. With this in mind, we are even more excited about exposing our clients to “art that turns on their brains!”

Today, Collectible Art and Frames continues to provide professional art services to clients of all ages, while maintaining the same commitment to quality and personal service that helped establish the business. All of our staff have backgrounds in art to ensure the best guidance  and quality service possible for each client. To provide ease of use many of our products are also available on Amazon and Etsy.

Our Philosophy

At Collectible Art and Frames, we believe that art in its many forms plays an important role in personal growth and well-being.
As Pablo Picasso once said:
"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life."
Research has also suggested that visual art can improve how different parts of the brain interact. This reinforces our belief that art has the power to inspire, uplift, and enrich everyday life.
